Port Description:
The port is used for handling manganese, gypsum through Sinai Manganese Company. The port is fitted with a concrete scaffold supported by iron bars extending 134 m. from the shore. The scaffold top consists of concrete blocks overlaid by reinforced concrete head protected by vertical wooden fenders. The scaffold is fitted with conveyor belts leading its lid where loading gears exist. Vessels berth on top of the scaffold in a way that the vessel’s bow is directed towards the west. For vessel mooring, 5 buoys are used, 2 of which are westward the scaffold and 3 eastwards. Water depth in front of the scaffold is 9.5m. The port integrates a 45 m long, 14 m. wide reinforced concrete quay with 3.25 m. C.D, over which a pumping house is built, and the water depth is 9 m. The berth is linked to the shore through a concrete bridge. Vessels could berth directly on the quayside, or on barges. The front part of the berth is fitted with mooring gears and rubber fenders.
Port Boundaries:
An imaginary line extending 1.5 N.M from Ras Abu Zenima southwards, is directed eastwards until the shoreline. This port is affiliated to the Red Sea ports Authority
Approach Area:
Vessels approach Abu Zenima bay between Ras Abu Zenima and Ragma point at a depth 18.3 m. Asandy shore extends 1295 m. from Ras Abu Zenima. On the eastern shore, the bank edge is distanced 185 m.

Port Description:

The port consists of a 53m. long berth made of concrete blocks with 35 m. width, and a depth varying between 8 and 9 m. It accommodates vessels up to 15000 tons. The port has been fitted with a small breakwater, 2 light buoys, a turning buoy as well as a light alert beacon on top of the breakwater.
Minerals Shipping from Production Sites to the Port Through 20 ton vehicles, at the rate of 500 tons / day.
Minerals Shipping from Vessel Storehouses Through conveyor belts at the rate of 1500 tons / day for pulverized phosphate to 3000 tons l day for crude quartz aluminates.

Port Description

Hamrawein is an open port; it is not fitted with any artificial fences or straits but is naturally protected from the South and the West through coral reefs. The port consists of 2 buoys fitted with an alert light, as well as 7 bollards; 3 of which are on the main berth, 2 alongside the North berth,1on land southward the port, and the last one on a concrete base. The berth could accommodate1 vessel up to 3000 tons.
Berths Description:
The port berths consist of 68.8 m. long concrete blocks, with a width varying between 31.25m. westwards and 53.45 m. eastwards, and a depth between 11 m. in front  of the berth and 50 m. towards the sea.

Minerals are carried by dump track at the rate of 3 thousand tons per day to the management factory to be prepared for exportation, then conveyed through belts to the port loading bridge, and discharged through pumps directly connected to inside the vessel.
Loading capacity of the port is 6000 tons / day and could be increased to 7000 tons / day

Port description:
Until1966, the port did not incorporate any offshore installations except for the small rocky berth used by a mining company for shipping crude talc. Then, a quay wall consisting of a 21m.Long, with a15 x 21m. hinterland was established. Water depth is 6 m. The quay is linked to the shore through a 150 m. long, 8m.wide Granite Bridge.
Port Boundaries:
The port entrance is surrounded from the NE by an armlet, from the NW by the new berth, from the W by coral rocks, and from the S by an imaginary line delimitating the banned sailing area

RAS MALAAB

Port Description

Ras Malaab port is 90 km. South of Suez, on the east coast of Suez Gulf. It consists of a small scaffold used for berthing Sinai Manganese Co. vessels. Sinai Co. established a gypsum factory in the vicinity of the port area, and studies the possibility of establishing a port in Ras Malaab area for the shipping of gypsum.
The port was established in 1933, and consists of a wooden scaffold supported by iron bars over an area of 30 x 10 m. It accommodates offshore units with a draft up to 5 m.
The Port undergoes the following restructuring works so as to increase exportation volume:
A 114m. long, 14 m. deep berth of ready-made concrete blocks with 3.5 m. C.D
A 100 m. long, 12 m. deep berth of ready-made concrete blocks with 3.5 m. C.D.
A 35 m. wide, 114 m. long land surface in the middle of the two berths with 3.5 m. C.D. Berths are linked to the shore through a 15 m. wide
rocky way used for conveyor belts and lorry traffic.
A 450 x 450 m land area allowed by the Egyptian Geology Authority for personnel habitats, and stacking yards.

Port Description:

Safaga port does not include any fences or straits but consists of a number of hidden islands and coastal reefs:
Safaga Island
Mawroud Lighthouse
Safaga Island Western Channel
Spit Reefs
Madfaa Reefs 

Approach Area:

In case of clear vision, vessels approach southward the port, and when distant
1mile from the coast they proceed towards Mawroud Lighthouse until the midway between Madfaa and Hindman Reefs where the lighthouse becomes clearly perceived, then they could change their course to enter the port.
Stevedoring Equipment and Rate:

Suspended line for Mineral phosphate loading at the rate of 800 tons per day.
Conveyor belts to perform loading from ship holds to berths, then to ships using the vessel’s cranes at the rate of 900 tons / day.

Berths Description:

Main berth for phosphate loading. Supporting berths extending alongside the main berth as well as a15 m.long,10 m. wide wooden jetty. Water depth varies between 5 and 17 m

Pilotage:

Compulsory. Pilots board the vessel at the inner end of the approach channel, currently being deepened. Pilots are provided by Safaga Port
Administration, affiliated to the Red Sea Ports Authority

Outer Anchor:

A protected berth exist is found outside the port with water depths varying between 19 and 28 m

Inner Anchor:

Berthing is possible at any place in the port at water depths varying between 26 and 35 m
